Do you have trouble with Uneven Skin Tone?

Uneven skin tone is an Achilles heel we have all tried to conquer in one way or another by moisturising or applying makeup. Most people don’t understand the causes of uneven skin tones and the importance to have the knowledge so we can look after our skin in the best way possible.

An uneven skin tone, called hyperpigmentation, is when your skin gets dark in random places. Have you ever noticed that a dark spot just appears from nowhere one day on your body or face? The cause of this is because there is an overproduction of melanin, the pigment known to regulate skin and hair colour. Uneven skin tone develops as a result of too much melanin being produced to help protect your skin from UV light.

Most people might not be bothered about having an uneven skin tone and so we might see it as normal, which in this day and age it is. But for people who aspire to put in the work and get their skin to a place where they are proud to show off their flawless skin here are some tips below to help:

  • Cleanse and Moisturise. You need to make sure that you are taking care of your skin and should implement a good skincare routine
  • Exfoliate. Exfoliate your skin at least twice a week using a gentle scrub, this gets rid of dirt and bacteria that has built up over time
  • Use toner. It contains a strong concentration of acne-fighting properties to clear skin. It also brightens your face, tackles dark spots and dull skin. It even cleanses by banishing excess oil and dirt to minimize pores and tones skin.
  • Use a good sunscreen, this is to protect your skin from UV rays that damage the elasticity and appearance of your skin

Most of us wish for impeccably smooth skin, but some of us have uneven skin tones. This could show up in the form of redness, acne scars, age spots, or sun damage, which can cause blemishes or patches of colour on the skin. This why it is important to establish a skin routine because uneven skin tone can become temporary or permanent, and 9/10 results in sun exposure.

So, when you see a random patch appear on any part of the body, or you see redness or acne scars, think about the ways you can improve your skin routine to have better results and a flawlessly even skin tone.
